  • I Burn A New Flame

    Sitting in thought

    My whole life I fought

    Being a better person

    A better quality of life

    Thawing my frozen brain

    Keeping my mind fluid

    Cutting apathy with a knife

    Lazy is not a choice

    Humming to a catchy tune

Enjoying the sound of my voice

    Loving myself more today

Sometimes black and white is better than gray

Being able to see the difference

That was then, this is now

Wiping the sweat from my brow

I don't have to panic anymore

    I won't fall

    I'll stand tall

    Kicking through life's drama

I don't need to let it get me down

    The weight of the world

I'll let others deal with it

    People like Obama

Shooting down my obstacles like America did Osama

    I burn a new flame

    It burns bright

    I burn a hot flame

    Lasting for an eternity

    Bright is my name...

  • Oh My Dear Friend,

You just keep getting better, and the imagery of a soul of fire which cannot go back to ordinary is extraordinary.  I have to believe that along the way you have met some of my demons, and as I do;  You just keep shoving them away, for they are vigilantly armed with chaos and wish to leave all that hurts behind them in the path the lambs must walk.  You give me courage, so; "Walk on,"  even in the darkness; "Walk on," and I will know that a gentle Lion is out to protect the ones more fragile than some might have thought.

Blessings, and lovingly, Barb of the, "Pinkhoneysuckle."

  • I love this. I always love all your poems.
